May 11 (TheLedger) - Sri Lanka secured a six-run win over Pakistan in Lahore on Thursday, booking a place in the Asia Cup final and ending a three-year wait for a major-tournament decider.
Wanindu Hasaranga's 4-for-22 was the standout bowling performance, but it was Pathum Nissanka's unbeaten 84 from 61 balls that anchored Sri Lanka's 187-for-6 in the rain-shortened innings.
"We backed our plans even when the dew came in," captain Charith Asalanka said after the match. "Hasaranga has been bowling beautifully through the tournament, and tonight he was outstanding."
Sri Lanka will face India in Sunday's final.
